A Renaissance Man in the truest sense of the word, Mario Simic’s passion and love of art were manifested at an early age as he grew up in his Yugoslavian motherland. His goal to become an active contributor to the world of art led him to Paris, where during intense studies, he was greatly influenced by the works of the past masters. A lifelong dream to move to the United States was realized when he traveled to California in 1970 and fell in love with the majestic Pacific coastline. First establishing residence in the San Francisco Bay area, he later settled in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

As he developed his unique painting style, Simic's focus remained on the challenge of representing form and movement through the use of color and dynamic brushstroke. His passion for the land and sea became the impetus for his electric inspiration that opened the door to a new era in artistic endeavor. Over the past quarter century, he has continued to capture the essence of nature’s awesome and timeless sculpting of the coastal landscape. From the heart of an artist, Mario Simic states, "My intention is to create harmony, balance, and energy flow and to inspire. I hope that my paintings bring to the viewer good feelings, leaving room for imagination and dreams".
