The power of storytelling is exactly this - to bridge the gaps where everything else has crumbled. – Paulo Coelho
The natural world is the one of the oldest sources of inspiration to humankind. We are captivated by all that we can physically see and curious about that which we cannot. Straddling the line between art and science, images of the plant and animal kingdom continue to motivate and inform us - to inspire us to always look deeper than we might have.
The silhouette is an important part of my work as I believe that it sets a stage in one’s mind. Although each form does indeed exist in the natural world, the juxtaposition of parts creates possibilities and questions. Allusions of life, of beauty and ultimately, of death complete the cycle.
