Artist Statement: "During my life I have never been hungry or thirsty. I was always able to sit and look at the horizon. When I spent my time elsewhere I missed the opportunity. With the help of pastels to create initial drawings, my faithful oil colours, other mediums to add coat after coat, and a final touch with wax, I try to stop time, light and shadows. I try to chase the fleeting moment that in real time makes everything follow suit. That moment that revels the perfect length and width between day and night, the moon and the stars. I know that I have embarked upon the world but I have not yet arrived. I am scaling enormous stairs steps each with a plateau allowing me to observe, develop, correct, be gratified and depart for the next. When I reach the end of the stairs I will eventually be able to comprehend if the horizon is a simple line in our lives or a simple shading where the sea becomes the sky."
