Gogi Lazari (full
name Gogi Lazarashivili) was born in 1946 in
Tbilisi, republic of Georgia (then part of the
Soviet Union). He graduated from the Tbilisi
Politechnical Institute in 1969, and from Tbilisi
Academy of Fine Art in 1976. At present he lives
in Tbilisi, capitol of now independent Georgia.
At present, he lives in Tbilisi and is a professor
in the Academy and Chairman of the Union of
Georgian Artists.
Lazarashvili's
paintings are in the Tretiakov Fine Art Gallery
(Museum) in Moscow, Russia, in a variety of
fine art museums in Georgia and Russia, part
of the 2001 Unesco exhibit in Paris and private
collections of Georgia, Russia, Finland, Canada,
Germany, Turkey, Belgium, USA, France, Holland,
Kuwait, Switzerland, Cyprus, Hungary, Japan,
Italy, Israel and Greece. Now, Gogi Lazari’s
modern original paintings have found it’s
way to Images Gallery on Maui.
