Fred Peters was born in Victoria BC 1956 and is currently residing on Thetis Island, BC with wife Wendy and their two dogs Duncan and Lucy. Fred Peters is a West Coast Canadian artist who paints acrylics that are alive with bold colour. His landscapes and city scenes move with a sense of whimsy and style that has become recognized and sought after worldwide.
"As long as I can remember, I enjoyed creating art. When I was 8-10 years old, my parents enrolled me in a local community summer arts program. We would go to various locations within the city and parks to paint. I still enjoy the memories of trundling off in the morning with my little tin paint box and brushes eager to capture the day. I also remember the accolades from tourists and locals alike who would happen upon us. I felt special."
Like many artists, Fred Peters painting started as a hobby while working my trade as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver and later as a contractor in the road construction business often took me away from home for much of the year. In 1996, the tedium of living in camps or motels saw him searching for something to occupy the evenings and his mind. He decided to start painting again. This changed Peters' life. He entered numerous art shows both juried and not. Success brought him confidence and encouragement to continue honing his skills. Images Fine Art Gallery is proud to represent his art.
